Chesterfield Christian Center is a non-denominational church located in Chesterfield County, Virginia. Our goal is to constantly remember that church is not buildings. It is not meetings. It is not a social club. According to the Bible, the church is composed of different people with different personalities, gifts, and talents, working together to fulfill their individual, and corporate roles in the Kingdom of God.
Jesus came and died to save people. He loves people, not buildings, programs, or church functions. We are therefore working hard to learn how to walk together through life as the people of God, more concerned about who we are together then what we do, or how we do it. We believe that the presence of God is drawn to people that have learned to walk together in unconditional love and unity, even when times are tough and the pressure is on. Jesus told us that “all men will know you are my disciples by your love for one another...” (John 13:35). We therefore understand that if we don’t get that issue straight first, nothing else that we do will even matter.
We also believe the entire Bible (cover to cover). That means the fun parts like healing, miracles, and God’s blessings. It also means the not so fun parts like striving against sin in our lives, conquering our thoughts and emotions, and learning how to love people who are obnoxious and hard to love. We know that at the end of the day, if we walk according to the Bible, our lives will turn out well. We probably won’t reach perfection while we are on this planet, but we believe that as long as we are doing our best to grow in God, that He is fine with that. That is the reason to belong to a church, so that we can help and encourage one another along the path.
We know that the Bible teaches that God "always leads us into triumph" (2 Corinthians 2:14). If we will follow Him into that triumph, we will be able to walk victorious lives here on the earth, and everything we set our hands to can prosper. This does not mean that the world will not throw some tough things at us, but Jesus said to be of good cheer because "I have overcome the world."
